World Travel with Karlexandra

Bye Sydney, Hi Germany

Woohoo - 1st Blog Post!

We have a newly developed blog - thank you Karl! From now on I will be writing my posts in German as well as English or at least try to! :D Please note, the English posts will likely be a little shorter, as Karl will be writing in English as well. So our English speaking audience will receive plenty of information anyhow 😉

After 2 years and 9 months in Sydney, it was time to pack up and start traveling again. It was a no-brainer for us after Karl’s current employer had agreed that he could work remotely. Although we already miss all of our friends and family there, we are super excited to start a new adventure. We can’t thank all of you enough for making our time in Australia super special.

After packing up our belongings, we went on a cruise to New Caledonia and Vanuatu. Awesome fun – exactly what we needed after stressful weeks of packing. 10 days of doing nothing, apart from eating and drinking 😉 (yea alright, you all know me, I did go to the gym a few times 😉) Made some more awesome friends during the cruise, too, which made it even more fun. (Hi Tash an Leo! 😊)

I left Sydney a few days after we got back to spend some time with Ricarda in Dubai. It was wonderful being able to spend quality time with her – especially the belated Bday celebration in Legoland / Waterpark! Woohoo! Thanks again, hon! Awesome to finally have met her other half, Brendan 😊

Met Karl (who had stayed and worked in Sydney for another week) at the airport in Dubai to catch the onward flight to Hamburg, where my parents picked us up. Followed by a fun family vacation in Cuxhaven, my sister’s beautiful wedding, catching up with friends and family in and around Detmold, visiting friends in Cologne and Berlin.

We now finally booked our flights to Columbia – Frankfurt to Bogotá on 5.10. (next week!! Can’t wait!)

From there the plan is to tavel south – Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay. The back to Australia for a bit before moving back to Germany (yep, living in Cologne is still on the cards 😊). Anyhow, you know us and our “plans”. Who ever thought we’d come to Sydney and then stay there for almost 3 years! :-D

Enough for now, you are up to speed and we’ll ensure to continue keeping you updated on our travel stories as well as on new features and functionalities of our blog, which we’ll continue working on along the way, if time allows 😉
